About Your Booking Weather. We are normally unable to fit windscreens when raining. Most windscreens are bonded or glued directly to the vehicle bodywork. Any water present on the new glass or vehicle may cause the new windscreen to leak. This can cause serious damage to the vehicle electrics. We can only produce quality workmanship in ideal conditions.
Driving the vehicle. The technician will advise when it is safe to drive the vehicle at the time of installation. This is usually 1 hour for cars and vans, goods vehicle could be up to 8 hours and is dependent on the weight of the glass being fitted. It is important that you follow this advice for your safety. The windscreen is part of the structural integrity of the vehicle.
Washing the vehicle. We recommend the vehicle is not washed for three days, water pressure or chemicals can damage the integrity of the installation while the adhesive is fully curing.
Safety risk assessment. Our technician will undertake their own risk assessment before undertaking the work. They may refuse to undertake the work if there is a risk to their safety or the safety of those around them. This could include working on a busy or narrow road, working on slippery surfaces caused by mud or ice.
Existing damage to vehicle. Our technician will highlight and image any existing damage.
Technician will call on route. Our technician will telephone you when they are on their way. If they receive no answer they will send you a text message and ask that you ring them back. After 5 minutes they will inform our office the appointment is cancelled and proceed to their next job.
