ADAS Calibration

After Car Glass Replacement

An increasing number of vehicles now have lane departure warning systems or traffic sign recognition systems. The sensors for these systems are normally attached to the inside of the windscreen. After the windscreen is replaced a calibration should be undertaken to ensure the system still functions correctly. Without this vital safety check the driver should not rely on any of these safety systems. Other safety systems on the vehicle may also be affected, adaptive cruise control to name but one.

Smile Windscreens

There are two types of calibration, Static or dynamic. A dynamic calibration is undertaken by driving the car for anything from 5 – 30 minutes. This will depend on the type of road, speed driven, road signs etc. A static calibration is undertaken by placing target boards in front of the vehicle, this type of calibration needs to be undertaken under workshop conditions.
