Installation must be undertaken in dry conditions, good lighting is also important. At present we only operate in the Kent area of the UK, see the areas we cover.

Warranty
Giving You Peace Of Mind
We provide a full 12 month warranty. This is subject to the condition of the windscreen aperture, after removing the old windscreen an inspection will be carried out to determine the condition of the vehicle, if there is any rust present we will advise you of any issues and recommend any remedies. As a company we are the first to admit we do not get every job right the first time, there are a small number of occasions when we will have to rectify one of our installations and the following conditions apply. A warranty job takes priority in our diary, we would aim to view and rectify any problems as soon as practically possible. We never discuss warranty issues over the phone without first being able to view the issue in person. Warranty rectifications can be undertaken anywhere in the Kent area during normal working hours. We only warrant the new parts we have fitted including our labour, existing parts are not covered.

After the windscreen is replaced a calibration should be undertaken to ensure the system still functions correctly. Without this vital safety check the driver should not rely on any of these safety systems.
Payment
Smile Windscreens
Prior to the removal of glass, a scan of the vehicle’s technology may need undertaking to check for any pre-existing faults, we carry this equipment and can undertake a pre scan. After a front windscreen is fitted back to a vehicle some of the technology attached to the glass may need re-programming. The camera for instance controlling the lane departure warning system. Several of our vans carry the equipment required to carry out this vital safety work, additionally our technicians are qualified to undertake this work and posses an IMI ACCREDITATION.
Glass quality
We purchase our glass from three main suppliers as follows. LADDAW this company is owned by Belron who in turn owns Autoglass. Our second supplier is Charles Pugh Glass and thirdly Master Autoglass. All three companies supply great quality products the majority of which are of original equipment standard. All vehicle front windscreens are manufactured from laminated glass. All windscreens must meet the European safety standards.
Waste
The old windscreen will be taken away and sent for recycling. Smile Windscreens Ltd has a waste licence.
Fitting time
All quotes have an approximate fitting time. After the windscreen is installed the adhesive must be allowed to cure before the vehicle is driven, this is known as the safe drive away time. In the event of an accident the windscreen could be pushed out by the vehicles air bags or the vehicle occupants, all quotations have a safe drive away time.
Washing the vehicle & Safe Drive Away Times
We recommend the vehicle is not washed for three days after the windscreen is installed. Although the vehicle is safe to drive after one hour the adhesive can take several days to fully cure. Chemicals contained in detergents can damage this process, pressure washers can blast holes in the adhesive. On commercial vehicles the safe drive away may be longer due to the weight of the glass, 8 hours may be required before it is safe to drive or move the vehicle.

On most occasions we can offer a next day service Monday – Saturday, we are closed on Sunday and bank holidays. To make a booking please contact us. If the work is urgent we may be able to offer a same day service. Our office is open at 8.00am and closes at 5.30pm. Monday – Friday.
